Sprigs of fresh thyme, oregano and mint made it into every breakfast, and no sound could be heard during the day other than the peaceful sing-song of birds.

At night you enjoy fabulous 4-course homemade meals by the glow of the fireplace, the warm company of the hosts, and their delightful sense of humour and happy manner.

Nestled high above the Mediterranean in a small village, Hoyran Wedre is an architectural marvel. The feeling of the place is as if you've stepped back in time into an ancient civilisation, whose construction techniques blend perfectly with the surrounding nature.

Just as impressive is the garden, which is a sheer joy to wander. You experience a hundred different aromas as you meander - thyme, sage, oregano and trees of carob, bay, olive, fig and almond. Around the infinity pool, you enjoy a spectacular view of the sea, and in my case, an unforgettable electrical storm followed by a breathtaking rainbow.

The hosts bring their sensitive taste to every element of your stay here, and every interaction with them was memorable and heartfelt. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough.
